transformation troubles - where to go next? - transformation/ligation (Oct/20/2006 )

So, the SOC media worked great for my controls (pUC), on the amp plates (100 ug/ml - only ones I had), but my ligation still shows diddly-squat.
I am going to try electroporation, I think...

Oh, man...
So I found (I think) the problem with my ligation/transformations: the amp plates were bad! After trying various assorted controls, including amp plates from another lab, I believe that, for some reason, the amp had gone off. Don't know why - no freeze/thaw, or anything like that, but it seems to be the only variable left that actually explained something.
I just wanted to give everyone who helped a follow-up: thanks again for all the suggestions.
