splice variants and knock down - (Sep/27/2006 )

my targeting gene has 3 splice variants. it's long and overlapping each other.

will it affect my knock down?

well if the strategy is siRNA, if the sequence is shared by the 3 normally the 3 should be affected (if the siRNA itself is active).
If the siRNA targets a unique sequence, the only mRNA containing the sequence would be knocked down

Depends on ur siRNA sequence. if the sequence is there in all of the 3 variants, and u have good sequence to knock it, then it should work.
