Acidic buffer for short-time in vitro experiment - (Sep/01/2006 )

Hi!

I would like to assess the influence of pH on the effect of my favourite molecule in a cellular oxygen consumption assay. I try to find an acidic buffer to work at pH 5,5 (to mimic the intratumoral pH). Is there someone who can help me?

I wonder also if my tumoral cells would support this pH in vitro. If you have any experience in cellular culture at low pH, please let me know!

i know 2 buffers that MAY be suitable... (name, useful range, and pKa at 37Â°)

I don't know about their toxcicity in your exp.
