Increase in cell viability? - (Aug/31/2006 )

Hi.

I am testing a range of related synthetic compounds for cytotoxicity in clean PBMCs and repeatedly see an increase in cell viability (using the MTT assay). The increase is significant and is typically 20 - 30% above baseline (cells alone). I was wondering whether anyone else has experienced this, if this is normal, and why this could occur.

You could confirm your observation by doing a dose-dependent cytotoxicity test. E.g. w/o synthetic compound and with synthetic compound at different conc.

If there's a positive correlation, then it tallies your above observation I guess.
