Time point for reduction of protein levels after RNAi - (Aug/31/2006 )

I would like to know how many hours after the point of maximum reduction in transcript levels I would be able to see the maximum reduction in protein levels (if there is any, of course)?
I should mention that we work with tropomyosin of adult parasitic nematodes and that the RNAi effect is already abolished 24 h after we see the max. red. in transcript levels. So the reduction is not stable. I found out that the half-time of rat heart muscle tropomyosin is 5.5 days.
Do you think a delay (mRNA level - protein level) of 16 h is realistic? dry.gif

This depends on how stable you protein is since you already know when you got max mRNA reduction and RNAi only degradate mRNA.
