Question on adenovirus expression - (Aug/31/2006 )

Dear All,
I am the new comer and have a stupid question about the expression of adenovirus.

Why most of the adenovirus is predominntly expression in liver ??

If the virus is injected into the liver, ofcourse u will have high expression in the liver. Also the membrane receptor in liver might have more affinity for adenovirus (check literature) or the promoter driving the expression might b liver specific.

some factors or enzymes essential for transcription could be present in the liver...
