MSP question - (Aug/23/2006 )

Hi, I've noticed that a number of papers utilize 4-6% non-denaturing polyacrylamide gels over standard 1-2% agarose gels for running out MSP samples. Is there a major benefit in using the PA gels?

PA gels have a much higher resolution than agarose gels, you can sixe an amplicon quite accurately also you could tell if you have multiple bands (mispriming) occuring given the high resolution.

The bands look much sharper for publications also
