Yeast contamination in a adenoviral transfection - (Aug/14/2006 )

Hi all, i hope somebody can help me, i've been doing some adenoviral trasnfections (Adeasy protocol) and two of my transfections have yeast but the other 4 are ok, can i still have some virus of these contaminated dishes, i am going to change some of the media but i am not so sure if the virus is going to be ok.

I hope somebody can help me!!!!!!!

Adv takes 48-72 hr growth post transfection; 293 are so easy to come off the plate, which means you can not do repeated washings. You may have to do another transfection, I am afraid.

but my cells are still attach to the plate, my real concern is if something can be wrong with the adenovirus because the contamination... unsure.gif . I did a new transformation today but i would like to try to rescue the plates from the contamination.

Adv infected 293 cells become easiler to come off as time goes. You will see.
