Glucose - expression repressor - (Aug/09/2006 )

Hi,

I am using glucose to repress basal expression of my protein as it may be toxic. What will happen if I leave the glucose in the media when I add my IPTG to induce expression? Do I need to remove it?

Not unless you have really put in lots of glucose. IPTG is a very strong inducer of expression.
