tools for transfection study - Other transfection tools? (Aug/08/2006 )

Hi All,

I would like to share and also learn more about some of the tools used in transfection studies:


From what I gather, some of the tools scientist used to control the experiments are as follows:

1) Cyclohexamine-used as a translation inhibitor

2) D-mannitol-used as a tool to induce apoptosis via the mitochondria ion gate-channel

3) Dextran sulfate-packing the free-floating proteins in the cell membrane/packing agent

4)reporter gene systems-CAT/luciferase

Any update or new techniques will be appreciated.

I am not sure what did you mean by transfection study. A study about transfection process or a study utlizes transfection techniques?
