alamarBlue proliferation - (Jul/24/2006 )
Hi!
I currently use 3H-thymidine incorporation to test lymphocyte proliferation, but I'd like to try an alternative method....I was thinking about AlamarBlue..
Has anyone tried it in proliferation assays? Is there a protocol you suggest for tests involving many samples? Can this technique also be used for cytotoxicity assays (instead of 51Chromium release)??
Thanx in advance
We use Alamar Blue for all our cytotoxicity and cell proliferation studies. We perform them in 96-well plates so you can get a rapid throughput.
The method should be available online fairly soon as we have recently returned galley prints of a paper which includes this technique. (will post when available)
Alamar Blue appears to be a more robust method than MTT.
thank you very much for the reply. I'm going to suggest this technique in my lab.....but I was wondering if it's considered a reliable method, especially for papers (you were telling me about a paper...)....anyway it would be great to have an alternative assay..I'll let you know!
Bye
