Biougmentation and bioremediation - (Jul/22/2006 )

i found that biougmentation and bioremediation are similiar!!
Almost all the application are same!!
How to diffirentiate the bioaugmentation and bioremediation??
There are any cases where bioaugmantation failed as bioremediation tools??

bioremediation is a general term that involves bioventing ,landfarming, bioreactor, composting, bioaugmentation, rhizofiltration, biostimulation(as different examples of it).bioremediation is any process that uses m.org, fungi,green plants or their enzymes etc.
but bioaugmentation is a more specific term that explains the use of m.org ( isolated from natural habitat) for bioremediation.if the property is not endogenous to the m.org then it is genetically engineered.
