why do supercoiled plasmid transform faster than linear plasmid - (Jul/06/2006 )
i need help and its quite urgent.... i'm currently doing research and i've come across this... why do supercoiled plasmid transform faster than linear plasmid?
can anyone help me?

because they are smaller and thus can cross the cell membrane with more ease
also supercoiled plasmids are more resistant to damage from exonucleases etc
