genesX promoters - (Jun/29/2006 )

hi.....

some stupid Qs......just to be sure rolleyes.gif :

each gene has a promoter & a termination sequence.....so this means that there are many promoters & termination sequences on a chromosome....right!

ORF are located in the coding regions....are these include just exons? dry.gif

yes to the first one. Thousands of promoters per chromosome.

ORF (Open Reading Frame) are ONLY the parts of the gene which allow you to produce full length viable protein with the minimal number of base pairs, i.e., the exons.
