Collagen I - Bovine vs. Rat tail tendon (Jun/28/2006 )

I have a cell line that requires the flasks to be coated in collagen I. All of the sources I read refer to collagen I as being derived from rat tail tendon. However, the collagen I bought by my lab says Bovine Collagen I. What is the difference between collagen from rat tail tendon and the bovine collagen? Will it affect the attachement of my cells? Can I use the Bovine Collagen I instead of the collagen from rat tail tendons to coat my flasks?

As long as its collagen I, it should be ok. Once I got a protocol with collagen I, but didnt specify the source.
