Cryopreservation - Expired DMSO (Jun/14/2006 )

Hi there,

Would like to ask if DMSO(which I used,happens to be expired for 2 months) can still be used for cryopreservation(together with 90% FBS)?

Would the cells be affected?The cells FYI is mouse embryonic fibroblastic cells.

hi la_vida_infierno ! if your DMSO is properly stored then it should work well. check for colour change. we have been using an old stock of DMSO and it works well. DMSO should be colour less. if exposed to sunlight it starts turning yellow and this is not useful anymore
