chemiluminescence detection. - (Jun/07/2006 )

hi all,
i am facing a problem in visualizing the blots with CSPD or can i say it as chemiluminescent blots.
we don't have a chemiluminescent detector but what we have is Molecular imager Fx. with K type imaging screen. sad.gif
Can chemiluminescent blots be detected with it. The protocol of molecular imager FX suggests that dry thin nitrocellulose membrane can be used for this screen , but should these blots be essentially radioactive.
What is the composition of chemi-screen ( Bio-rad) ?
please help .

I don't think you can let the membrane dry out entirely with chemi, and still get signal? at least not with the chemi that I use

I also know that chemi detection systems don't necessarily pick up all wavelengths of signal emitted. you may want to check your kit against your equipment and find out if they will be compatible. And I am not familiar with your imager, but you need pretty good sensitivity to pick up chemi

good luck

thanks aimikins,
i am actually not able to find out the exact wavelenght for detection..
