DNA extraction method from oil or fat sample - any standard procedures or commercial kits that allow isolated the total DNA fro (Jun/06/2006 )

Recently i am working on analysed the origin from oil and fat sample(animal or plant derived) by PCR method. I did search from google scolar and NCBI. But so far i can't get the ideal procedures for the DNA extraction method from those samples. Can anyone share the experience in DNA extraction from oil or fatty sample by using hexane or other methods( or any commercial kit available for isolate DNA from those samples)? any information is deeply appreciated. Thank you very much

I have tried plant DNA extraction from olive oil before but never for animal.
You may try this out.

thank you for your rapid reply, Hadrian, i myself also find one of the paper that mentioned about the DNA extraction procedure from olive oil which is very similar with the your protocols pulished in Food chemistry, 2003 under titled as "DNA extraction from olive oil and its use in the identification of the production cultivar". Actually i am trying this protocols so far and i hope i can get my sample with the protocols mentioned very soon. Additinally, Dr. Hadrian, if i meet any problem, can i discuss with you in here or in private?
