genemapper-microsatellites - (Jun/05/2006 )

I have started to work with ABI prism gene mapper software...and I was wandering if anybody could suggest a free program to download from the web so that I can read the electropherograms on my computer instead of queuing everytime to read them on the computer dedicated to ABI....something similar to Chromas 4 sequences....

chromas v.1.45 is freeware.

4peaks for the mac.

traceviewer for mac or pc.

there are others but i can't remember them offhand. if you want, i can check when i get to work tomorrow.

that'll be great thanx! I was just surfing through web...but could not find anything...or rather I found only programs to read sequences but not microsatellite-electropherograms....

-francy-

....it was not possible to open the files generated by genemapper...any other program to advise?

-francy-

have you tried staden or finchtv (available for both pc and mac)? there is also aligner for the mac.

(sorry i didn't get back before now, i had trouble getting on the forum during work yesterday).

-mdfenko-
