Pages: Previous 1 2

Thank you for all the responses... the precipitate falls out immediately, before autoclaving. This is also a recent problem, where as i was having success with the media up until this last week, which is what is baffling blink.gif hopefully, something will figure out today

Have you thought about possible contamination from detergent on your bottles?

yeah... i looked at that as well. i had some new bottles from fisher that i washed out with water and tested and had the same results.

Good news though! i dissolved the di-ammonium hydrogen phosphate and ph'd it to 5.5, then added the mgso4x7h20 and everything went great. so, it looks as if this will work. it's just weird how this was going great, until the distilling system was cleaned up. i still wonder what was going on with the water... that maybe there was something 'odd' with it before, and this is how it is supposed to be... who knows cool.gif i've got my media going now, so i can continue on with my research.

Thank you all for the help

Cheers,
