snp analysis - choosing snps for study (May/04/2006 )

I wish to develop a snp analysis for the 7p(human), I'm finding that it can be difficult to choose a hanful of snps to look at. I want to study five or so throughout the 7p looking for a duplication. Do any of you have suggestions for a snp library I could access? Or advice on how tho go about setting this up?

Why not do comparative genomic hybridization looking for insertions or deletions in that area first? Or use the SNP browser from API to find the SNPs.
