Kit for anti-inflammatory cytokines measurement in serum - (Apr/26/2006 )

Hallo,
I would like to measure anti-inflammatory cytokines from human serum and was wondering if there is any commercially available kit for the basic panel of these cytokines (TNFalpha, IL-1, IL-6). Does anybody know something what would suit my purposes?

Thanks a lot for any help! smile.gif

If you have a luminex machine you can do a luminex bead assay, this would allow you to multiplex all these cytokines at once, R&D Systems (www.rndsystems.com) have got pretty good luminex range for these cykokines

hi,

there r commercially available protein arrays, if u can take cytokine array system, by using small amounts of serum samples u can do western blotting. in a single experiment u can get lot of data, which can be realiable(coz they optimize the dilutions Ab n protien concentrations of cytokines ).

even u can make coustomized array, where u can give them list of cytokines in which ur interested, n they can give u membrane with those cytokines after optimization.

google by giving 'PROTEIN ARRAY+ cytokines"

hope this helps u

I agree with Grapes' but it is expensive and not possible if you don't have access to a luminex machine (not luminometer which measures luminescence). For one or two cytokines, ELISA with matched pair antibodies from R&D or BD make work out cheaper.

Also there's a similar system to luminex from BD called CBA which can be measured on a flow cytometer or on a specialist machine.

All the best,
