DNA (Major groove & minor Groove) - BAse pairs (Apr/26/2006 )

Please help me, any body say me how many major and minor grooves are there in 110 base pairs of DNA.

For standard B-DNA there are 10 base pairs per helical turn (360 degrees). In A-DNA, which is unnatural, this is 11 base pairs per turn.

Your 110 bp fragment will therefore complete 11 full rotations.

However your question is not clear. Irrespective of the length of DNA there is only one major groove and one minor groove. They are continuous.
