Dialysing the proteins - (Mar/23/2006 )

I need a quicky answer. I am using micro-collodion bags from Sartorius for dialysing my supernatant proteins which were resuspended in sterile water. What should I dialyse it against (buffer, water?) and how long??

Quick answer will be appreciated!

it depends on factors like protein stability, next step, etc.
i would probably dialyze against buffer (for the next step).

What to dialyize against greatly depends on your downstream application.
A good general buffer is a neutral pH PBS buffer.
