Please recommend a fast way to get purified protein - (Mar/19/2006 )
I want to get purified protein as soon as possible. I don't need stable cell line, also, I don't need very large quantity of purified protein. If I transient transfect HEK293 cells ( five T75 flasks) using lipofectamine 2000, may I get reasonable quantity of purified protein? Or do I have to use free style 293 cells? Thanks in advance.

to get a good lot of proteins, i recommend to use suspension cultures. More cells in same volume and easy way to recover protein.
even if you don't need stable cell line, it's a good choice to keep little part of your culture and do a stable cell line for further purifs.
If you can do it, yeast may be a good choice too.
Do I have to use a shaker to culture Freestyle 293 cells? We don't have a shaker in our cell incubators and even don't have power source within our incubators.
