hesitation between Rasmol and protein explorer - software (Mar/18/2006 )

I would like to build a protein and for this I need a software but I can't make my mind between Rasmol and protein explorer . Is it always necessary to be connected to internet to use them? Do you have any suggestions?

Rasmol can be used offline. I don't know for protein explorer.

you want to build a protein or you want to look at the nice pictures based on pre-defined £D coordinates.

If you want to do the latter then you can use any viwer - I would go for pymol. However if you wish to do something like comparative modeling them you will have to use something like swiss deepview / swissmodel.

Rarley do you have to remain connected to the web.
