Protein imputities in extracted genomic DNA - (Jan/30/2006 )

Hi, my problem is that I am extracting DNA form Genome Purification Kit by Fermentas, to get a high yield of DNA. But there are protein impurities present in the DNA. How can I getrid of these protein impurities.
plz suggest some possible solution.

You could do a phenol:chloroform:isoamyl extraction followed by EtOH precipitation to purify the genomic DNA. Just be sure not to vortex or you'll end up shearing the DNA.
