DNA fragmentation- gel electrophoresis assay - molecular biology (Jan/25/2006 )
Heyguys,
need a liyttle help here:
I was trying to find out the mechanism of cell death caused by my compounds in human keratinocytes. Using flow cytometry i found that the compds cause only late apoptoss and necrosis and less than 3% apoptosis. That was good cuz thats what i was expecting. Now i want to do one more method to confirm this and i planned on doing gel electrophoresis.
My question is: what will i see in the gel if i know i will get only late apoptosis or necrosis. Will i still get a laddering pattern?
Thanks a lot

I might be wrong but if I recall that correctly than isn't Apoptosis leading to 200Bp long fragments while Necrosis does not?
