Transcient transfection of HaCaT cells - which is the most effective method? - (Jan/17/2006 )

Dear all,

I want to transfect HaCaT cells transciently, however, I've heard that these cells are not the easiest cells to transfect and the efficiency is often low. I wonder if anyone out there has tried different methods to see which one is the best. We usually use FuGENE 6.

Sonja

I have had very good luck using DEAE-dextran and lipofectamine 2000

I've tried several different ways of transfecting HaCats and the way I found best was using a nucleofector, whcih is realy expensive but I generally get 40-50% using this method.
