Does anyone have a reliable protocol for isolating DNA from a single mammalian cell?

I will suggest the protocol I know that can be used for single sperm cells. I believe it is easily adapted to somatic cells. PNAS 95:10791. The protocol involves embedding in agarose, scraping single cells off with a blade, lysing, neutralizing and then using the sample for PCR.
