smear problem - (Nov/29/2005 )

Recently, I started to use TAE run my 2% agrose gel. It is weird that everything appeared on the gel is smear, including dyes and PCR products! I use the same dye before in TBE, only a little bit smear. Now I don't know the PCR smear is my gel's problem or my PCR problem. I would really appreciate if somebody can help me.

May try to reduce the amount (ug) per lane.

I hope this may help.

This happens when our entering students make up gels with water instead of buffer. Are you sure this didn't happen somehow?
