Why is TE frequently used as buffer for DNA solutions? - (Nov/28/2005 )

Does any one know why TE buffer is used to prepare DNA solution?

I think for the 2 reasons. The TRIS is an excellent buffer so it controls the pH and the EDTA chelates ions that DNases need to degrade DNA. Therefore, the EDTA helps prevent DNA degradation.
