Platelet Count - protocol for Platelet Count from gallus domesticus (Oct/21/2005 )

Can anyone suggest a protocol for a Platelet Count from gallus domesticus whole blood?

Are you in anyway associated with a hospital or pathology unit or even a vet with pathology services? These guys will have a counter for whole blood that will give you a total cell count including platelets.

PS ... how different in size are chicken (?) cells compared to human??

I don't know how you would count by eye ... they are tiny blighters and hard to see.
