Suspension Culture - 293H cells clumping (Oct/20/2005 )

I have a 100mL culture of 293H cells growing in a 250mL spinner flask (cells were grown to 90% confluence on 2 T-225's and then moved into spinner)
24 hours later, the cells are visibly clumping. We wanted to add EDTA to prevent this. What concentration of EDTA should we add?
Are there any other good options to help prevent this?
Thanks!!!

Adding EDTA will not prevent clumping of the cells in culture but will assist in declumping cells for cell counting.

There is a commercial reagent for preventing cells from clumping - I think it is a detergent based compound, but I can't remember the name right now.

Check in the literature for papers dealing with suspension cells in fermentors etc.
