techniques to obtain full-length cDNA - (Oct/13/2005 )

What are the different techniques to obtain full-length cDNA sequences from a species in a lab. I'm not interested in databases or so. I want to know how it's done in a lab. What do these techniques cost to apply on a whole genome, such as human or mouse.

I study with chicken brain in our lab and to obtain full-length cDNA from brain whole RNA, I use oligo (dT) primer for reverse transcription.So first you should isolate RNA then by RT-PCR you can obtain full length cDNAs as far as I know.

race pcr helps too
