Maximum recovery time after electroporation - (Aug/21/2009 )

Hi!

Does anyone know what's the maximum recovery time after electroporation? I use Methylobacterium extorquens and we usually use 24 hours and it works well. But often I have to come back on saturday to plate my tranformation. It's why I'm asking the maximum recovery time, because if I can incubate the cells for 48 hours it will be good for my personnal life!!

What are the cells recovering in, and in what volume? If it's just cells in media, could you leave them at room temperature or in the refrigerator to slow the growth rate?

The cells are in 1ml Minimal Media + Methanol. I didn't think about incubation at room temp! Great idea, I'm going to try that.
