Gene screening - (Jul/23/2009 )

Hey all,

Yet again I have a problem... I am screening a gene panel of around 40 exons and I keep getting told the way Im annotatin the changes is wrong. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get the rules from so that I can make my notes in the proper format?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to use the exon prediction or Gene structure prediction tools.

At the end, you may also have to check manually using GT/AG rule.

NCBI Gene gives you precise gene structure most of the times. So check it out too.

Hmm I dont think i explained myself very well.... for example if i wanted to say I had a SNP 512 bp from the ATG how would i write that in a universally accepted form?
