Anti-HCC drug - looking for an anti-HCC positive control!! (Jun/13/2009 )
Dear all,
I'm currently working on hepatocellular carcinoma cells (HuH-7); testing the effect of an anticancer drug..
but I'm looking for a positive control to compare my results with...
Please tell me if you know any! (favorably affecting the p53 expression in p53-transfected cells.)
Thanks

Thanks yobou, but doxorubicin acts through inhibiting topoisomerase enzyme and inhibiting DNA unwinding...
but i'm looking for a pro-apoptotic drug that acts through up-regulation of p53 tumor suppressor gene..
Thanks :-|

you said in your post (favorably affecting the p53 expression ).
The relationship between DNA damge, G2-M arrest and activation of p53 is very well documented. if you write (doxorubicin-induced p53 activation ) on the pubmed or google you will get many reports

Thanks yobou
