I've been working on Western Blots, trying to use them in a quantitative manner, to no luck. I've read that ELISAs are more sensitive and are better suited to be used for quantification. Can somebody explain why the difference in sensitivity between these two?

Hi there,
I do sandwich elisa and according to the kits I used, the sensitivity is 2 ng/mL. However, it varies on the kit used.
Chemiluminescent assay of Western blots can give sensitivity till 0.1 pg/band.
Hope it helps..
