Cell culture container - (May/25/2009 )

I am new to culturing mammalian tissues and I had a quick question. We are going to use Jurkat cells to express a his-tagged protein. Most protocols I have seen call for the use of T75 flasks for growing these cells (they are a suspended cell type)

I want to know if there is any reason I cannot culture them in 12 well plates or 60mm dishes? We have a lot of those in the lab and I just wanted to know if there was any reason I couldn't or shouldn't use those. Thank you!

No, theres no reason why you shouldn't be able to use the dishes or plates. The exception would be use of any medium that cannot be exposed to CO2 (ph changes) such as with L-15. We used up our surplus of 60 mm dishes for that very reason.
