Thermal stability of H202 - stability of H2O2 in hot agar (May/04/2009 )

Hi everyone,

I just needed to know the best way to add hydrogen peroxide in an agar. I understand H202 can't be autoclaved. So I need to add it after the agar cools down. But everytime I do it, I am not sure if I am adding it at the right temperature so as not to degrade the H202. Anyone know if I can add H202 when the temperature is around 70 degree celsius which is when I usually add it. If I go to ard 60 degree celsius, then I have to be very quick otherwise the agar solidifies. Any suggestions would be appreciable.

Don't have much experience with this but why can't you just spread it on top of agar when it cools down?
