CD34+ & CD45+ cells - Easily culturable commercial line? (Apr/21/2009 )
I need to find a commercially available source of human cells which are easily culturable, and both CD34+ & CD45+ in normal culture conditions. I'm not too fussed what they are, as they are just for positive controls.
I'm new in the area, so am not familiar with many of the likely companies to try. Any suggestions gratefully received (I'm in the UK)
Cheers
Chris
try Hans Drexler's group, the DSMZ http://www.dsmz.de/
I'd consider them the most reliable resource, period.
also, you can find a list here of several sites:

The human lymphoblastoid line KG1a is both CD34/CD45 +
It grows rapidly in suspension culture using IMDM or RPMI 1640 + 10% FCS.
Can be obtained from CAMR Centre for Applied Microbiology & Research (ECACC, Salisbury, Wiltshire) or from ATCC (CCL 246.1). Check out their websites.
Hope this helps
Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned that I need the cells to adhere to glass coverslips for staining, so I don't know if the cells that klinmed suggested would be any good.
Cheers
