Out of stock: trimethyl H3K4 antibody for ChIP - (Apr/18/2009 )
Abcam is out of H3K4me3 antibody (ab8580) again, and this time quite seriously
It was out of stock for some time now, and they initially claimed it will be available in March
But the batch in March didn't pass their quality control, and they now announced it won't be availble until Sept
That's a blow to whoever uses ab8580 to do ChIP in mouse tissues/cells
So I'm asking if anyone had tried any replacement/substitute of ab8580 and had success?
I don't want to sit and wait until Sept

We tried a H3K4m3 antibody from Diagenode (cat# pAB MEHAHS-024) in our 96-well plate based ChIP assay and it worked great (we got about 30-50% of input; the % of input is much higher for our plate based assay than traditional ChIP so it's hard to compare this recovery to other protocols). I never compared the Abcam and Diagenode antibodies in our plate based assay so I can't say how comparable they are.
I used the an anti-H3K4me3 antibody from Upstate and I got a good level of pull down with it.

Thank you for your information (I also have been looking for a good antibody for ChIP).
Did you mean MC315?
http://www.millipore.com/catalogue/item/04-745
or AW304?

Thank you in advance.

The catalogue number when I ordered it was 05-745. The labelling says it was MC315.
I wish you luck!
