How to concentrate lenti or retroviral particules - (Apr/17/2009 )
Dear friends,
I know that ultracentrifugation protocol is used to concentrate lent or retroviral particules. But this week I heard about a protocol using polyethylene glycol. Anybody here knows such protocol or any other?
Thanks,
Dvd

There's also a method of concentration by anion exchange chromatography. I've never tried it, but if ultracentrifugation isn't an option, it might be worth a shot. Check out:

Ultracentrifugation is good enough, PEG is not necessary.
The recovery rate is low with other methods.

I know that ultracentrifugation is the most common ways for concentrating lenti particles. Many labs use it for invivo stuff too. try and compare other techniques.
