Control vehicle treatment in cells - (Mar/16/2009 )

Hi,

I read about control vehicle treatment (like ethanol or DMSO) in cells, but never understood what exactly it means. Do i treat the same volume of ethanol or DMSO as present in my ligand? Please clarify.

if you add 200 µL of your ligand, in DMSO (or PBS, water, ethanol...), then you need to do a control where you add 200µL of DMSO (or PBS, water, ethanol...) alone
