freezing of digitonin solutions - (Mar/14/2009 )

Dear All
I would like to know if it is ok to store prepared digitonin solutions at - 20oC and re-using them after thawing?

Invitrogen supply 5% digitonin solution and recommend storage at 4 oC. Your material should be stable at this temp. Check their website if you need more info. Storage at -20 oC should be fine.

Do you mean Digitonin solution for cell lysis?

I keep mine at 4 degrees, but if I add protease inhibitor then I'll aliquot and keep at -20. remember it is not recommended to freeze-thaw protease inhibitors.....but personally I have even freeze-thawed after addition of protease inhibitors and have had no problem so far. :(
