How Gateway cloning system works? - (Mar/09/2009 )

I have heard of a cloning technique called the Gateway system but Im wary as Im not entirely sure what it does... could someone please put it into simple english for me? I know it has something to do with recombination rather than PCR but after that Im stuck.
