Macroarray platforms - CGH vs Gene Expression (Mar/05/2009 )
Hello Forum,
I was wondering if it is OK to use the same microarray type for both CGH and gene expression studies in bacteria?
Thanks for the answer.

no.
think about splicing.

Usually splicing is not an issue in bacteria, right?

why not? is alternative splicing of exons unheard of in bacteria?
the point is that the arrays are best for what they were designed and may be inadequate for that which they weren't.

tiling arrays are used for DNA as well as RNA, so it all depends what you want to investigate?
