RNase free syringe for Qiagen DNase treatment, could not find any company provid - (Jan/29/2009 )

Hey!

I have a very simple question, the protocol asks me to get RNase free syringe and needle to prepare DNase solution, but Qiagen do not provide it, i called any vendor I know they do not have RNase free ones or do not know what it is? Qiagen says any sterile one will be ok if I confirm that they are also RNase free. I do not want to contaminate my whole DNase by using a regular one so what do you think?

Would you help me on this please?

Thank you,

It is unlikely that a sterile, unused, plastic syringe (from BD, for example) has RNAse contamination. I would use it without a second thought. If you need to remove RNAses, then peroxide treatment and washing with RNAse free water would do the trick, but I would avoid this in preference to a factory-fresh syringe. Use gloves (or course).

thank you very much, I really appreciate it.
