What is it like teaching biology (secondary or in university)? - (May/20/2021 )

I'm 26 and recently realized I really enjoy biology. I passed both Biology honors and Marine Science honors with A's and I am currently studying Advanced Biology, Chemistry Honors, and Botany. (Studying for CLEP exams and SAT Subject Tests because I am homeschooled and do not have access to the AP exams in my area.) If I don't graduate this year, in 12th grade I plan to take Physics honors, Organic Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology.I think that, when I am in college, I'll be studying either General Biology, Plant Science, or Marine Biology. Afterwards, I would go through a teacher certification program or minor in teaching and become certified later on. I have always wanted to be a teacher and I feel as though that would allow me to continue studying throughout my life. I thought I would end up teaching humanities or social studies, but I am much more interested in life science.What is it like being a teacher? Should I go past a bachelors degree in biology if I have the opportunity? What can I do in high school to increase my chances of getting into a biology program? Any advice?

Sorry I didn’t see this question earlier. I’m not a teacher but in New York you have to have, or be working on and achieve within a specific period of time, a masters degree (in education or a specific subject) to teach in primary and secondary schools
